September 22, 2010 - Sapheneia, a global imaging services company, today announced the signing of 3 new customers to a growing list of hospitals, imaging centers and clinics who use the Clarity CT Solution to enable material reductions in the medical radiation exposed to patients.
Joining Sapheneia's growing customer base are: Watson Clinic of Lakeland, FL, Zilkha Radiology of East Islip, NY, and Inova Alexandria Hospital of Alexandria, VA. Each of these facilities licensed Clarity CT to reduce the effective dose on CT exams across a variety of different makes and models of CT scanners. April 6, 2010 – Sapheneia, a global imaging services company, today announced the installation of Clarity™ CT Solution at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati, OH designed to materially reduce CT radiation dose for pediatric patients.
The Clarity CT Solution was implemented in clinical production at Cincinnati Children’s to address the growing concern over radiation dose exposed to patients, especially children, during CT diagnostic imaging. Clarity Solution Software version CS2010a offers enhanced features for Image Quality Optimization and Improved Installation and Serviceability
March 4, 2010 - Sapheneia, a global imaging services company, today announced the commercial release of Clarity™ Solution software - version CS2010a.
The new Clarity version introduces a number of features that improve image quality and clinical workflow. Most prominent is the incorporation of standard reformatting into the Clarity Server platform. These unique features allows the processing of thin slice data and then reformat to the axial, sagittal and coronal slices required for diagnosis.
Using a novel memory handling scheme within the 64bit application makes the processing of large X-ray images even more effective. Thus the server can handle even more modality sources simultaneously.
Sapheneia also extended its MRI processing capabilities and now offers Clarity MRI Solution. Using this solution MRI data acquired at shorter scan times can be enhanced to the same quality as obtained using longer acquisitions.
"By including reformatting we can use the full power of our 3D processing scheme that on thin slices taken full advantage of the coherence between slices. Without the need for an additional step in the workflow the radiologists is provided with the reformatted data as needed for the particular examination," states Hagen Spies, VP R&D at Sapheneia.

Several innovations have been included in this latest version to increase both image quality and ease of use. New image quality features include an enhanced image optimization engine for X-ray images designed to accommodate a wider range of both CR and DR exams. Also, a novel noise and exposure adaptation scheme was added to the image optimization engine, which makes Clarity very robust under varying examination conditions. August 12, 2009 - Sapheneia, a global imaging services company, today announced the initial results of an on-going partnership with Washington Hospital Center, in Washington, D.C. designed to materially reduce CT radiation dose for patients by using Sapheneia’s Clarity™ CT Solution software.
The partnership involves the implementation of both Clarity CT and CR Solution software in clinical production within the radiology department at Washington Hospital Center to address the growing concern over radiation dose exposure to patients during diagnostic imaging, and the need to improve CR image quality. Following the installation of Clarity, Sapheneia and the Hospital Center worked together to achieve a material radiation dose reduction on CT exams while maintaining or improving image quality and diagnostic confidence for a select number of scanning protocols.

July 27, 2009 - Sapheneia, a global imaging services company, today announced the initial results of an on-going partnership with Bolivar Medical Center of Cleveland, MS designed to materially reduce CT radiation dose for patients by using Sapheneia´s Clarity™ CT Solution software.
The partnership involves the implementation of Clarity CT Solution software in clinical production within the radiology department at Bolivar Medical Center to address the growing concern over radiation dose exposure to patients during CT diagnostic imaging. Following the installation of Clarity, Sapheneia and Bolivar Medical Center worked together to achieve material radiation dose reduction on CT exams while maintaining or improving image quality and diagnostic confidence for head, chest and abdomen scanning protocols.

May 19, 2009 - Sapheneia, a global imaging services company, today announced the initial results of an on-going partnership with Children´s Memorial Hospital ("CMH") of Chicago, IL designed to materially reduce CT radiation dose for pediatric patients using Sapheneia´s Clarity™ CT Solution.
The partnership involves the implementation of Clarity CT Solution in clinical production at CMH to address the growing concern over radiation dose exposure to patients, especially children, during CT diagnostic imaging. Following the installation of Clarity CT Solution, Sapheneia and CMH worked together to fine-tune pediatric specific scanning protocols using the Clarity CT Solution product, to achieve material dose reduction while maintaining or improving image quality and diagnostic confidence.

Karolinska University Hospital has installed its first Clarity CT Solution in the Trauma unit. Sapheneia, a global Imaging Services Company, today announced the launch of GPU support using DirectX® 9, for its real-time OEM products Clarity Ultrasound Solution and Clarity Fluoro Solution. By supporting this powerful technology, Sapheneia allows its OEM customers to select from a wider choice of hardware platforms during system design for image optimization implementations.
Real-time performance for high demands within Fluoroscopy is fully feasible on a consumer grade graphics board. For 1024x1024 16bit Fluoroscopy typical data frame rates are between 45 and 60 frames per second on an ATI Radeon HD 4850 processor.
Ultrasound image optimization using Clarity runs at very high frame rates even on less powerful graphic processors.
"We decided to use DirectX® 9 because of its availability for both Windows® XP and Vista and for all graphic processor manufacturers. We will also provide support for other GPU platforms such as OpenGL, CUDA or DirectX® 10," states Hagen Spies, VP R&D at Sapheneia.

Third Generation Clarity™ Server Obtains CE Mark
Sapheneia, a global Imaging Services Company, today received the CE mark according to MDD Class II b for its latest Clarity Server release through notified body Intertek Semko AB. This product release constitutes the third CE marked version of Clarity Server and has been developed according to the highest quality standards. Sapheneia´s commitment to quality is also expressed in the company´s certification according to ISO 13485:2003 (Medical Devices - Quality Management System - Requirements for Regulatory Purposes).
This new version marks a significant engineering step as it introduces more versatile and significantly faster DICOM communication. Another main feature of this release is the substantially improved 3D processing capability.

Berlin, Germany, June 27-30, 2007 - Dr Ulf Hesser of Läkarhuset Odenplan, Stockholm presented results from his work using the Clarity-Server platform for lowering the patient radiation exposure in CT examinations.
"We conclude that by using image processing methods, diagnostic and surgical imaging facilities can substantially lower the dose for many examinations on current CT modality models, as well as capitalizing the use of its second and third generation modality technologies without the need of expensive manufacture upgrades to those technologies."
